Aho, my dear, this Cauliflower Pickle (Gobi Avakaya) is a tasty twist from our Andhra kitchens — crunchy, spicy, and full of homemade goodness! Made with fresh cauliflower florets, red chilli powder, mustard seeds, garlic, and gingelly oil, it’s tangy, fiery, and simply delightful.
In the old days, we’d make it during the winter season when cauliflower was fresh from the fields. We blanched and sun-dried the florets just right, then mixed them with our hand-pounded masalas. The aroma of gingelly oil and spices would make everyone’s mouth water! A spoonful with hot rice, curd rice, or chapati was enough to make any meal special.
