Ariselu – From Chittamma’s Kitchen

My dear, this Ariselu is the sweetest memory of every festival in our Andhra homes! Made with freshly pounded rice flour, golden jaggery syrup, and a touch of ghee, these soft, round delights are fried to perfection and sprinkled with sesame seeds.

In the old days, we made them during Sankranti — soaking rice overnight, drying it under the sun, and grinding it fresh. The sweet smell of jaggery and ghee would fill the air, and everyone would wait eagerly for the first hot Ariselu. Each bite is soft, sweet, and full of love — carrying the warmth of our traditions and the loving touch of Chittamma’s kitchen.
